Abstract
This study examined the influence of Solid FM’s Soul Sistaz radio programme on public awareness and behavioral responses to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) among women in Enugu Metropolis. Grounded in Agenda-Setting Theory and Social Cognitive Theory, the research employed a quantitative survey design. A structured questionnaire was administered to a sample of 384 girls, decided on via stratified random sampling from Enugu North, Enugu South, and Enugu East local authorities regions. The findings indicated that the Soul Sistaz programme substantially enhanced women's knowledge of SGBV, which includes knowing their rights, figuring out early symptoms of abuse, and knowledge of support services. Furthermore, this program positively impacted behavioral responses, as many respondents mentioned elevated willingness to talk out, support victims, and document instances of abuse. The study concluded that media advocacy via localized radio programming can serve as an powerful tool in encouraging gender-based totally consciousness and inspiring proactive conduct among urban women in Nigeria.
