Abstract
This study interrogates Genocidal implications of the Israeli-Palestinian war. The objectives of the study are to determine the extent to which the Israeli Palestinian war breached the genocide convention 1948; to examine how the Israeli defense force strategy of food deprivation in Gaza account for genocide and to investigate whether Hamas invasion of Israel’s Be’eri region account for genocide. It is anchored on Just War Theory propounded by Thomas Aquinas and St Augustine. Documentary method of data collection, content analysis and exploratory research design were adopted in this research. The findings are: The Israeli-Palestinian War breached core articles of the Genocide Convention; The Israeli Defense Force Strategy of Food Deprivation accounts for genocide and Hamas invasion of the Be’eri region accounts for genocide. The recommendations to the findings are: to revive and redesign the Two-State Solution; a neutral humanitarian corridor should be established and monitored by non-aligned states and a mandatory war ethics training for both state and non-state actors.
