Abstract

This study is on the challenges of developing sustainable financial institutions in Nigeria. It looks at the entire system of financing for development which exists globally, with particular attention to the challenges facing the establishment/development of financial institutions that can sustain the Nigerian economy. The paper looks at the central issue for the summit on 'finance for development' FfD and 'world summit on sustainable development' WSSD - financing for sustainable development - and outlines the challenges and opportunities that crop up thereof.
