Abstract

This research looks into the Remote work and employee productivity: At global world Communication tech hub limited in Enugu metropolis, Enugu State, Nigeria. This research is based on the following specific objectives: (a) to establish the factors that affect the productivity of the employees of Global World Communication Tech Hub Limited in the remote work environment; (b) to analyze the effects of remote work on the productivity of the employees of Global World Communication Tech Hub Limited; (c) to determine the challenges faced in implementing the remote work in Global World Communication Tech Hub Limited; and (d) to ascertain some of the basic strategies and policies that should be adopted by Global World Communication Tech Hub Limited to improve the productivity of its employees in remote work environment. Self-Determination Theory and Theory of Work Adjustment have been used to anchor this research while the descriptive survey method has been employed. The sample population consists of 50 employees of Global World Communication Tech Hub Limited. The results show that workers engaged in remote work have increased productivity due to reduced travel time, increased flexibility, and self-management of work schedule. Majority of the respondents were able to complete their tasks quickly and also followed deadlines in their work environment. It has also been found that the remote working environment gives workers more control over their workplace, leading to job satisfaction. Increased job satisfaction led to higher commitment to the organizational goals and performance. It is suggested that the management of Global World Communication Tech Hub Limited should equip themselves with proper technological infrastructure to facilitate remote working such as internet and other technological platforms.
