Abstract
Since spring , the COVID- pandemic has not only had an effect on health and economic sys tems worldwide, but continues to place a significant impact on the education sector. e pandemic repeatedly led to school closures and subsequent homeschooling procedures. Long periods of dis tance learning further intensified existing dynamics of social educational disadvantages, especially for families with a migratory background. is article examines the subjectively perceived challen ges faced by these families. Available resources, such as the parents’ educational background or the socio-economic situation of families, are being analyzed in order to identify how of this had effects on the coping mechanisms of families during the school lockdowns
