Abstract
Students can access more relevant information, interact with study groups, and access other educational systems courtesy of the emergence of social media. Students and institutions have many potentials to improve learning methods as a resultof the availability of social networking applications. However, it appears that some students do use Instagram for non-academic, unethical, and inappropriate purposeswith resultant observable odd behaviours. This study therefore, examined the influence of Instagram on the social behaviour of students in Godfrey Okoye University. The study was anchored on the Technological Determinism Theory. The survey research method was used in the execution of the study. A population of 2511was studied using a sample size of 353. The researcher found out high extentuse of Instagram by students of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, that Instagram has negative influences on their social behaviour with the females getting more infuenced, among others. The researcher recommended among others that it is necessary for the youths, especially females, to regulate their use of social media.
