Abstract
The current research project focused on assessing the impacts of Monetary Policy on the economic growth of Nigeria using time series data between 1994 and 2024. This current research assessed the impacts of Money supply, exchange rate, monetary policy rate, and cash reserve ratio on economic growth in Nigeria. The approach adopted in analyzing data in this current research study is Auto-regressive Distrributed Lag Model (ARDL) through E-Views 14. Findings from the current research project indicate that while all other variables have a positive impact on economic growth, cash reserve ratio exchange rate has a negative impact on economic growth. Furthermore, the analysis utilized the Zivot & Andrews Unit Root Test to check the stationarity, and it was found out that the explanatory variables are stationary at first differencing. From the results obtained, it can be seen that The Federal Government and Central Bank of Nigeria need to make efforts towards ensuring that financial inclusion is increased by making the credit accessible and the monetary policies like the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) and Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) help in making investments and economic growth. It is recommended that the Central Bank of Nigeria keeps the money supply growing steadily in order to increase investments, consumptions, and productions without the increase in inflation rate.
