Abstract
This project formulates an overall Library Management System (LMS) for Godfrey University to mitigate the shortcomings of the current manual system. The suggested computer-based solution will automate fundamental library functions, such as book cataloging, borrowing procedures, user management, and report generation. This system, with the use of a relational database (MySQL) and web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, will improve efficiency, diminish errors, and better track resources while offering a richer user experience to students, faculty, and library staff. The document outlines the background research, system requirements, design methodology, and implementation approach. It highlights the benefits of transitioning from a manual to a digital library management system, with particular focus on addressing the specific needs of the Godfrey Okoye University community. The system features user authentication, book search functionality, borrowing management, automated fine calculation, and administrative tools for maintaining the library collection. Upon completion, this Library Management System will significantly improve operational efficiency, enhance resource accessibility, and establish a foundation for future digital library services at the university.
