Abstract
The complexities and varied dimensions of cyberbullying in youngsters are suchthat understanding the predictors of cyberbullying is imperative in order to explicate factorsresponsible for victimization in the case of young people. The association between personalitytraits and cyberbullying is largely underexplored. Thus, the present study examined relationshipof personality trait on cyberbullying among students in Godfery Okoye University. Asampleof250 respondents made up of 100 male and 150 female students aged 16-23 years witha meanage of 19.5 and a standard deviation of 2.46 were selected using homogenous purposivesampling and accidental sampling technique from a population of Godfery Okoye University, Enugu. The result of the study shows that neuroticism, extraversion, agreeableness, anddonot have significant effect on cyberbullying except openness to experience. Hence it isrecommended that Universities and higher institutions should increase counselling andpsycho-social services so that students may develop skills to manage behavioural and emotional problems of cyberbullying, especially students with high degree of neuroticismmay likelybevulnerable to emotional stress due to online harassment.
