Abstract
The research investigated the responsiveness of students to instructional materials in learning computer science in junior secondary schools in Enugu north local government Area, Enugu State. To guide the study four specific purposes and four research questions were formulated. The design of the study was a survey research. The population of the study was 1050 and the sample size was 105 obtained through random sampling technique. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire and was validated by experts in computer science as well as measurement and evaluation. The instrument was subjected to reliability test and a reliability coefficient of 0.82. The instrument was administered and collected back on the spot. The data analysis was done using simple mean. Findings shows that various types of instructional materials are been used in teaching computer science, the students respond positively to the use of instructional materials, there are some problems militating against the use of instructional materials and it was finally found that there are remedies to the challenges encountered with the use of instructional materials. Based on the findings, it was recommended that instructional materials be provided for the teaching and learning of computer science, workshops should be organized for computer science teachers to enhance the usage of instructional materials to improve learning in Enugu North Local Government Area of Enugu State.
