Abstract

Human Capital Management focuses the attention of an organization’s leadership team on the strategies it should adopt to increase the added value they obtain from people. It identifies those aspects of people management that demonstrably have the greatest bearing on business performance. The objective of this highlights the importance of Human Capital Management to organization’s efficiency. The study adopted a survey design method of conducting research, by administering questionnaires to the relevant respondents in order to acquire fact and reliable information. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 16.0 is hereby employed for the data analysis. In the process of data analysis, a data file containing the original codes of the survey questionnaire were entered into the SPSS Data Editor. After analyzing the data from various sources, it was discovered that there is a clear human resources policy in First bank Plc, and that there is a regular funding for staff development in First Bank Plc. The paper recommends that the management of First bank Plc should continue to encourage and improve the skills of its employees for maximum operational efficiency
