Abstract
This paper begins with the assertion that the much discussed topic of environment is first and foremost a theological and faith issue. It therefore argues that the resolution of the ecological crises must not relu solely and principally on guidelines from politcs, psychology or any field of knowledge with a cleaim to its proper resolution. The argument that the crises needs a theological solution stems from the fact that the the biblical affirmation in the first chapter of Genesis that God provided an environment viable for human life has enormous implication for faith.
