Abstract

Social studies is a veritable instrument for attainment of national integration and a true democracy in Nigeria. The emphasis of social studies is on all round development of the individual and the society. In this paper, issues bordering on social studies and democratic challenges are discussed. Specifically, it dwelt on the challenges of social studies in attaining a true democracy in Nigeria.
