Abstract

Salmon (2008) observes that freedom of expression is a universal human right: "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes the right to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers. "This right is reflected in Article 9 of the African Charter on Human and PeopleADUs' Rights, Article 10 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and Article 13 of the American Convention on Human Rights.
