Abstract

Border management in Nigeria is characterized by lack of clear-cut border management policy and proliferation of law enforcement agencies with conflicting functions. These breed chaos and intra-systemic conflict which undermine effective border management. Against this backdrop, this study interrogates the link between trans-border governance and boko haram insurgence, with a focus on Nigeria's North-East borders between 2009-2015.
