Abstract
The purpose of the study is to find the relationship among parental involvement, socioeconomic status and pupils’ achievement in Mathematics in Enugu East local of Enugu State. The study was correlational survey research design. The population of the study was made up of primary school pupils in Enugu East local government Area of Enugu State. The sample size is 200 pupils in 10 selected primary schools. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The instrument used in the study was three research question and a Mathematics achievement test. The instrument were validated using content and face validity by experts in mathematics and test and measurements. The reliability coefficient of 0.6 was obtained the data collected were analyzed using Pearson product moment correlation. The hypotheses formulated were tested at 0.05 level of significance. It was concluded from the study that parental involvement, socioeconomic status are related strongly to pupils’ achievement in Mathematics. Based on the findings recommendations were made, among which was parents should take an active interest in the children’s education at their home and school.
