The paper investigates the impact of external environment on business survival in Nigerian. Every business organization regardless of scope, size and inclination set before a number of goals and objectives. The organizations strive to carry out their activities and to make sure they achieve one of their paramount objectives which is to maximize profit. The paper will try to answer the question: can organizations survive without working closely with the external environment? An extensive review of related literature was carried out to throw more light into the investigation. The objective of this paper is to examine how business organization can cope with its external environment and guarantee its survival. The relevant data were collected administering questionnaire. These were administered to 80 worker randomly selected the frequency of responses were found and converted to percentages. The result indicated that all the external factors affect the business either negatively or positively that business cannot operate in a vacuum and need to interact with its environment both internal and external. The paper recommends that, there is need to follow the trend of change in dynamic environment, which they operate. In conclusion for organization for effective it must capitalize on the proper management of its environment and every business note that external environment are uncontrollable factor and that business can only adapt to it as seen in the data gathered from the study.
