Abstract

The paper explores the meaning of the biblical assertion that "all scripture is inspired" (2 Tim 3:16). It exposes prevailing methodologies in the teaching of the Bible in the universities and draws attention to the danger of secularized interpretation of scripture. It proposes that scripture must be understood and taught according to its nature as word of God and not simply as a historical document. It discusses two main approaches: faith and contextual.
