Abstract

Despite the several attempt at the development of rural Nigeria, result has yielded more failures than success. this paper examines the reason for this failures and develop the position that family theoretical models of rural development have contributed to this emerging catastrophe. The paper ended by providing a more workable model of rural development through some theoretical recommendations.
