THE EFFECT OF EXTENT LABOUR LAWS ON HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT I.pdf Download (835kB) |
Abstract
Human Resource Management in the past has been conducted by the rule of the thumb without a clear guidance of any specific labour law which governs the employees and the employers. The apparent power omnipotence ascribed to the employers by some school thought is of course only a myth. This study is an expository effort on the effect of extant labour law on human resource management in Nigeria. The study concludes that the extant labour law have contributed inversely to curbing the arbitrariness of employers of labours, particularly the government and private sectors, in handling workers’ grievances. The presence of these laws has emboldened the workers to agitate for their rights in a most civilized and democratic way.
