Abstract
Having described inculturation as the process that facilitates the encounter between faith and culture and as tool of evangelization, the author situates it theologically as the hermeneutic of the incarnation of the word of God in a cultural context. The paper offers three proposals: deeper study of Igbo language and culture, use of Igbo names for baptism and study of Igbo culture in places where evangelizers are trained.
