Abstract

Social studies is a course of instruction which has pragmatic social relevance. The socio-economic, political and technological transformation of the society is the primary focus of social studies instruction. It is obvious that social studies education as a discipline whose birth was hoped to transform the society, with disciplined citizens, whose creative ingenuity can help in stabilizing the economy should be effectively implemented at the upper basic level in Nigerian schools.
