Abstract
This study examined the Influence of telecommunication advertisement on students’ preference of mobile service providers in Enugu metropolis. The research study adopted the Agenda-setting theory and hierarchy theory as the theoretical framework for this study. The study used questionnaire as instrument. The population of the study comprises 3540 students of Godfrey Okoye University and Caritas University, while the sample size of 347 using Wimmer and Dominick online Calculator. The findings of the study revealed that over 99% of the students see advertisement on telecommunication on through the media and that all mobile service providers are very persuasive as to appeal to customers. It was recommended that advertising messages from service provider should be accurate, factual and realistic since such message could help shape subscriber’s perceptions and preferences and that service provider should pay more attention to other extra advertorial intervening variable rather than constant review of call tariff in order to help improving service quality
